Ludacris Debuts New Cognac In France

Rap star Lucacris was in France this week debuting his new Cognac at the Vinexpo event. Ludacris arrived in style in a chauffeur-driven Bentley and posed with a bevy of beauties dressed in identical black dresses. Ludacris worked with Birkedal Hartmann, a Norwegian-owned Cognac producer to create Conjure, which will debut in Norway in July and then here in the U.S. in the fall. The Grammy-award-winning rapper says that he went to the Cognac region in France to help create the spirit. He worked with Birkedal Hartmann's master blender, Philippe Braastad Tiffon choosing more than 40 different brandies to create the blend. Decanter reports that while Cognac usually has a grade such as VO (very old) or VS (very special) on the bottle, Conjure is ungraded because it mixes several different grades. The bottle design includes a print which is composed of naked female silhouettes. The cognac will sell for $34.

The AFP reports that Ludacris added a bit of excitement to Vinexpo with some of the top names in the wine businesses lining up for autographs. Ludacris said that his favorite drink is Cognanc and Coke which makes me think this Cognac will skew to the sweet side. Birkedal Hartmann currently ships 400,000 bottles of cognac a year but with Ludacris on the team hopes to sell a million cases. Other musicians including Snoop Dogg, Swiss Beatz and Dr. Dre have also entered the Cognac business, adding interest to a drink category that has been seeing decreasing sales recently.

Sincere Apologies To Everyone

Over the past few years I have forwarded funny pictures and jokes to friends who I thought shared the same sense of humor. I have also published in www.berro.com similar content.  Unfortunately this wasn't the case and I seem to have upset quite a few people who have accused me of being sexist and shallow. If you were one of these people, please accept my humblest apologies. From now on I will only publish pages and send emails with a cultural or educational content such as old monuments, nature and other interesting structures. Below is a picture of the Pont Neuf Bridge in Paris . The Pont Neuf, French for the "New Bridge," is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris. Its name, which distinguished it from the old bridges that were lined on both sides with houses, simply stuck.  Standing by the western point of the Île de la Cité, the island in the middle of the river that was the heart of medieval Paris, it connects the left bank, the Rive Gauche of Paris with the Rive Droite, the right bank. P.S. For those of you who are interested, Pont Neuf took 26 years to build.   Construction began in 1578 and ended in 1604. 'Le Pont Neuf' is actually made of 2 independent bridges, one with seven arches and the other with five arches. Henri IVs statue is located on the right of the bridge. It was the first equestrian statue erected in Paris and also the first statue that was free-standing i.e.  not attached to a building. Like other royal statues, it was melted down during the revolution. It was replaced with an identical copy in 1818.

Sexy Girls and Sexy Lingerie Go Well Together

Just as I believe high-fashion clothes look best when displayed on skinny-minny living mannequin models, lingerie looks best when hugging the curves of gals with boobs and bums, both of which were on display at the French lingerie showcase thrown this week within the hip, cavernous walls of Artscape's Wychwood Barns. What once housed streetcars in need of repair held for a night strutting femmes fatales in lingerie.
And what lingerie! The jiggling, stretchmarks, cellulite, and sexy smiles on display may've been a refreshing break from the usual stern robogirls popular these days on the high-fashion catwalk, but the lingerie--and remarkable styling of the girls--was a treat to observe as well.
The lines represented at the show included all my favourite French brands, including Lejaby, Empreinte, Simone Perele, Passionata, and Chantelle underthings, as well as Elixir and Gerbe.
The Lejaby girls came out in military hats brandishing riding crops, an aggressive look that went well with the sophisticated sexiness of looks that included a nude-and-black corset that would be a perfect fit with a retro Parisian boudoir setting (and looked amazing on the model, who looked like a thirties movie starlet come to life).

Empreinte sent out its model in naughty-teacher glasses, and showed a lot of black and white pieces, while Simone Perele eschewed simple for a lot of bright colour, pointy silhouettes, and fancy patterns (my favourite was the pale green pieces with lilac grapes sewn on top), as well as styling that included pink feather hats.
Elixir and Passionata were the more simple lines shown (although Passionata won the best garter-belt prize with its sheer mesh fabric belt that looked like a single skimpy black ruffle), which complemented the Gerbe show of bodysuits and avant-garde tights.

Chantelle rounded out the showcase with its trademark elaborate designs, which included a navy and seafoam ombre piece embroidered with subtle sequins.
Gorgeous lingerie, gorgeous girls--not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night.
